Bitter + Sweet was launched by Janice Chua in

July 2011 with the mission of serving the best

coffee and desserts in the South Bay community.

Janice, an ex-banker of 17 years, wanted to create a café for members of the community to come hang out and enjoy great coffee and food. In 2010, she enrolled herself in the American Barista and Coffee School to learn more about the business of running a specialty coffeeshop and how to prepare great coffee. After a year of preparation, Bitter + Sweet finally opened its doors in Cupertino.

Our team of talented baristas will serve you expertly prepared espresso and coffee drinks, using fresh beans from Sightglass Coffee. To complement our coffee offerings, we also serve ice cream from Humphry Slocombe, featuring interesting flavors like Secret Breakfast, as well as decadent desserts from local bakeries.

You will notice that our shop has a rather unique look to it. It’s modern sleek with clean architectural lines. Step into the shop and you will notice the unique touches we’ve put in – the hanging curtains, beautiful glass tile backsplash, ceiling panels, just to name a few. We promise that you will feel very much at home.
